a family of robots helping researchers and farmers to make agriculture more sustainable
modern agriculture uses energy-intensive, heavy machinery and practices that harm the environment, contribute to climate change, and reduce global insect populations.
curt is a research project for a greener, more economical, and sustainable agriculture.
curt mini is designed to help researchers and farmers collect data for training in automated analysis and manipulation in the field.
as researchers and farmers need to train the robot in a harsh environment, it was essential to be able to easily change parts and sensors anywhere.
a rocker kinematic was used to design the robot to overcome high obstacles.
the robot's outer layer consists of plates perforated at the top, front and back, allowing users to easily attach sensors.
the second layer protects the internal parts from water and dust.
completely open, the robot provides easy access to all parts and cables for easy understanding and reconfiguration.
the test result can then be displayed to the suspect, who is now confronted with a less vague result and more humane test conditions.
the curt maxi has sensors that automatically detect weeds and remove them mechanically via actuators.
the actuator can move in different directions to protect the crop and reach the weeds.
