in this sprint project, we explored how appliances could help young indians connect with their cultural heritage.
in our user research, we found that our target group preferred essential, portable kitchen appliances that could adapt to frequent moves and aspirational lifestyles, while still accommodating traditional cookware.
to connect more deeply with loved ones, we prototyped different interactions that would enable a collaborative cooking experience over distance. this would be deepened by removing numbers from the interfaces and allowing the appliances to merge as they grow from singles to families.
through our research, we developed jodana, a modular cooking system that can grow with the user.
